Each year, New Hampshire Magazine partners with the selected national research firm, Castle Connolly, to conduct the NH Top Doctors poll. The survey process includes 543 doctors across 57 specialties, as nominated by their peers, and who cover a wide range of medical needs from pediatrics to surgical care. Castle Connolly’s established nomination survey, research, screening and selection process, under the direction of an M.D., involves many hundreds of thousands of physicians, as well as academic medical centers, regional and community hospitals all across the nation.
Part of what makes the New Hampshire Top Doctors recognition such an honor, is that the chosen recipients are nominated and rightfully named by their esteemed peers. The nomination process is open to all licensed physicians in America and across varying medical specialties. They are asked to nominate the best doctors in their region and respective specialty. Once nominated, Castle Connolly’s physician-led team of researchers follows a rigorous screening process to select the top doctors on both a regional and national level. Once the top doctors are identified, a consumer guide with detailed information about the physicians education, training, and expertise is published in an annual “Top Doctors” paperback guide, as well as a national and regional magazine feature and online directory.
